Family Fun Day
We had a fantastic day at our recent Family Fun Day. Sincere thank you to all those who helped to make the day such a success. Many thanks to those who sponsored prizes for the raffle and auction, those who baked for the cake sale, and those who helped on all of the different stalls. Thank you to our secretary for helping to organise the event, and to our Parents' Association for collecting prizes and setting up. Many thanks to all those who attended on the day. The support of all involved in the event is very much appreciated.
Easter Art
The Senior Room have been busy this week constructing some fantastic pieces of Easter art.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We enjoyed participating in lots of different activities during Seachtain na Gaeilge. We especially enjoyed our Comórtas Cic Fada, our Comórtas Dathú, learning some new songs and dances, participating in a Tráth na gCeist, and dressing up for our Lá Glas.
Lá Glas
We were very excited to dress in green for our Lá Glas.
Mother's Day
Pupils have been very busy designing some very creative gifts for Mother's Day.
Community Games
Well done to all the pupils who participated in the Community Games Art and Handwriting competition, and congratulations to all of our winners.
World Book Day 2024
We were all very excited to dress up as our favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day.
Water Poster Competition
Congratulations to the winners of our in-school water poster competition. Well done to everybody who participated and created such fantastic pieces of artwork.
'Edible Trees'
As part of our work towards achieving our 5th Green-Schools flag, we enjoyed participating in a fantastic 'Edible Trees' webinar. We were very excited to learn lots of new facts and information during this webinar.
FAI Schools Primary 5s

St Brigid's Crosses
The Senior Room have been busy creating some beautiful St Brigid's crosses.
Christmas Carol Service

Trick or Treat for Temple Street
We were all very excited to dress up in our costumes for 'Trick or Treat for Temple Street', in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital. Many thanks to all those who donated. We raised a total of €85.
Active Hallowe'en
Pupils in the Junior Room and Senior Room had fantastic fun participating in a variety of active activities to celebrate Hallowe'en.
Cross Country
The Senior Room enjoyed a very exciting day at Cross Country in Clonmel. Well done to all the pupils and congratulations to our medal winners.
Apple Trees
We have been very busy planting apple trees in our school garden as we continue our work towards achieving our Green-Schools flag for Biodiversity.
Innocent Big Grow
We have been busy over the past few days planting a great variety of vegetables.
Hurling
Well done to our U13 Hurling team who won all of their matches in their recent blitz. They will now compete in a County Final in Semple Stadium next month. Congratulations to all!.
Old School Mining Museum
All of the children from the Junior Room and the Senior Room were very excited to visit the Mining Museum in The Old School today. They were all very interested to learn lots about the history of our local area, and everybody completed some beautiful pieces of art afterwards with our local artist, Katy.
Easter
There was great excitement today as we held our Easter Egg Hunt and our Easter Raffle, Congratulations to all who won prizes, and many thanks to those who bought tickets and donated prizes for the raffle.

Climb The Heights
We were all very excited to Jump into January today as we completed hundreds of jumping jacks for our Climb the Heights challenge for Active Schools. We were delighted to reach Mount Olympus!

The Junior Room were very busy today constructing some wonderful creations from their new blocks.
Hurling Training
There was great excitement in the Senior Room today as the children completed their first session of hurling training this term with Paddy.
Active School Slogan Competition
Well done to all of the children who entered our Active School Slogan Competition. We had lots of wonderful entries and our Active School Committee have chosen 'Don't be lazy. Be activity crazy!' as our new Active School slogan.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Toy Show Art
The children are very excited to see the Toy Show tonight and the pupils in the Senior Room created some fantastic pieces of art today to celebrate.
Cycling/ Scooting Workshops
All of the children completed cycling and scooting workshops with our Green-Schools Travel Officer today. They learned lots of important information about road safety and environmental care, and many new cycling/ scooting skills.
Vegetable Garden
The Senior Room have been busy today harvesting rhubarb, carrots, parsnips, onions, lettuce, cabbage, and broccoli from our vegetable garden.
Yard Games
For Yard Games this week, our Active School committee organised games of Reaction, Scatch, Dominoes, and Flip Toss.
Science Experiments
Children in the Junior Room made some wonderful discoveries while conducting a science experiment today.
Walk/ Cycle/ Scoot To School Day
Having designated Thursdays as our weekly 'Walk/ Cycle/ Scoot To School Day', all of the children made a fantastic effort to travel to school using a sustainable mode of transport.
Green-Schools Slogan Competition
The children have submitted some wonderful ideas for a new Green-School code to our slogan competition. Our Green-Schools committee have selected the slogan 'Better Environment, Better You; Walk, Cycle or Scoot to School' as the winning entry. Well done to everybody who entered our competition!
Yard Games
Yard games for our Monday lunchtime were organised again by our Active School committee today. Dodgeball, Jenga, and Bowling were enjoyed by the pupils today as part of our Active School initiative.
Team Hope - Christmas Shoebox Appeal
Many thanks to everybody at Slieveardagh N.S. who donated shoeboxes/ made online donations to the Shoebox Appeal.
Irish Dancing
The children were excited today to begin their Irish Dancing lessons. They enjoyed learning some new steps today and are looking forward to learning much more in the coming weeks.
Yard Games
Our Active School committee were busy today organising yard games for all of the pupils to play at lunch time. Today the children enjoyed playing games of flip toss, Dominoes, Jenga, and bowling.
Active Halloween
We had a very active day today at Slieveardagh N.S. As part of our Active School initiative, we completed some #FeelGoodFridays Halloween active activities. The Junior Room completed a Halloween Freeze Dance with bubbles, while the Senior Room enjoyed games of Ghosts, Ghouls & Goblins, Witches' Hat Tag, and Witches and Zombies Tag.
Green-Schools WOW Campaign
We launched our Green-Schools WOW campaign today to encourage everyone at our school to travel to school using a sustainable mode of transport every Thursday. We held a Witches' Walk and a Green-Schools Quiz, facilitated by our Green-Schools Travel Officer, and the children received lots of fantastic prizes for all of their hard work.
Climate Action Week 2021
We were busy this week at Slieveardagh N.S. completing a range of activities for Climate Action Week 2021. We made the decision this week to engage in conversation about climate change and completed many activities while doing so, including taking climate action pledges, participating in our Green Code competition, engaging with virtual workshops, participating in travel surveys, and making an extra effort to travel to school sustainably where possible.
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to our 3rd Class pupils on making their First Holy Communion.
European School Sports Day
The children competed in a wide variety of activities throughout the day today to celebrate this year's European School Sports Day.
No Energy Day
We held a 'No Energy Day' today as part of our Green-Schools initiative, and to help us to maintain the work of the Energy flag we received previously. We ensured we did not use any electrical devices throughout the day and we made a big effort to travel to school sustainably.
Active Walkway Day
Everybody was excited today to complete some Walkway activities around our new Active School Walkway to celebrate Active Walkway Day 2021.
Bike Week 2021
Our Green-Schools committee have planned many activities to celebrate Bike Week 2021 at Slieveardagh N.S.

The Senior Room were delighted to return to hurling training Friday afternoon.

The Junior Room have been busy today taking care of some of the plants in our sensory garden.
Outdoor Learning
1st and 2nd Class enjoyed some DEAR time outdoors today in our sensory garden.
Our Sensory Garden and Vegetable Garden
Our Sensory Garden and Vegetable Garden have developed greatly over the past number of months. We are delighted to have such wonderful facilities for all of the pupils to utilise.

We all enjoyed a visit from the ice-cream van on our final day of term.

Cumann na mBunscol Week
We were delighted to celebrate Cumann na mBunscol Week from 14th - 18th June. We held a County/ Club Colours Day, Crossbar Challenges, GAA Skills Competitions, a GAA Quiz, and a GAA Art Competition.
6th Class Graduation Mass
We held a Graduation ceremony for our 6th class on June 17th. Congratulations to the Class of 2021 on your graduation.
School Garden
The Senior Room have been busy planting cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, carrots and onions in our school garden.
Bug Hotel
The Junior Room did a fantastic job building a bug hotel in our school garden.
Sacrament of Reconciliation

Ballingarry GAA & Camogie Club Virtual 5km Fundraiser

The children enjoyed a fantastic cycling/ scooting workshop today with Green-Schools. They had great fun and learned many new cycling/ scooting skills.

Grandparents Day
We had a fantastic time celebrating Grandparents Day. The children read prayers and sang beautifully at our service and everybody enjoyed some treats afterwards. We were all delighted to welcome so many visitors to our school.

Both the Junior Room and the Senior Room enjoyed a fantastic workshop with Bricí Spraoi and created some very imaginative structures.
Concern Water Workshop
Everybody enjoyed a very informative workshop by Noeleen from Concern, who told us about the importance of water conservation and the steps that we can take to conserve water.

St Vincent de Paul
Everybody was delighted to present food items collected for The Society of St Vincent de Paul to Annie, our local committee member. Many thanks to all those who contributed to the collection.

Dogs Trust
All of the pupils enjoyed a very informative workshop by Maeve from Dogs Trust, who visited us with her dog Penny.

Water Awareness Day
Everybody enjoyed our 'Water Awareness Day'. The pupils made posters to advertise the event, dressed in blue, participated in a 'Walk for Water' activity, made water conservation videos, and completed a water quiz.
Christmas Concert
We held our Christmas concert on Friday, 6th December. The children put on an excellent performance of the play 'Tidings of Great Joy', sang a variety of songs, and performed some pieces on tin whistle and keyboard.
Christmas Decorations Competition
As part of our Green-Schools initiative, pupils have designed some very creative decorations from recycled materials for Tipperary County Council's Christmas Decoration Competition.
Maths Trails
Pupils in the Senior Room have enjoyed completing money Maths Trails.
Clay
Pupils in the Senior Room have made some wonderful patterns and pottery from clay.
Fractions
Pupils in the Senior Room have enjoyed playing a variety of maths games while learning about fractions.
Tipperary Food Producers
The children had a brilliant time completing a Virtual Reality Food Tour workshop recently. They also received some beautiful books during the workshop, based on local Tipperary food producers.
Football Training
Pupils from 1st - 6th class have enjoyed their weekly football training sessions with Paddy.

Childline Breakfast Morning

Funky Kids show
Our funky kids show in Ballingarry Community Center was a great success on Thursday 28th March. The children performed fantastically on the night displaying great talent and confidence. There was amazing support on the night from parents, grandparents, past pupils and the local community. Thanks to our school community for your continued support.

Christmas Carol service
The Junior Room put on a short play called “The Snowman” and the Senior Room performed “The Grinch”. All the children performed many Christmas carols and we had lovely performances played on guitar, tin whistle, accordion and keyboard. It was a very enjoyable night and the children loved performing for you all. We raised €229 on the raffle. Thanks for your continued support.
